The characteristics of PCB ink

(1) Viscosity and Thixotropy

In the process of manufacturing printed circuit boards, screen printing is one of the indispensable and important processes. In order to obtain the fidelity of image reproduction, the ink must have good viscosity and suitable thixotropy.

(2)Fineness

The pigments and mineral fillers of PCB inks are generally solid. After fine grinding, their particle size does not exceed 4/5 microns, and form a homogeneous flow state in solid form.

The type of PCB ink

PCB ink is mainly divided into three types, namely circuit, solder mask and character ink

(1) Line ink: It is a barrier layer to prevent circuit corrosion and protects the circuit during etching. Generally, it is a liquid photosensitive type. There are two kinds of acid corrosion resistance and alkali corrosion resistance.

(2) Solder mask ink: It is used to protect the circuit after the circuit is finished. There are liquid photosensitive, thermal curing, and UV curing. Retain pads on the board to facilitate soldering components and play the role of insulation and anti-oxidation.

(3) Character ink: It is used to mark the surface of the board, such as marking components and symbols, which are generally white.
